Epoch Films produced The Task, a film by artist LEIGH LEDARE that follows 30 participants engaging in Tavistock group therapy. It premiered at the ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO as the central piece of Ledare’s four month solo exhibition at the museum. The film reveals complex patterns of stereotyping and other projections of identity, and explores authority as it is questioned, assumed, and interpreted by participants, the facilitating psychologists, the camera, and the artist.
